My Kailash Journey

In the summer of 2019, I embarked on a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar, a sacred place nestled in the majestic Himalayas. Little did I know that this spiritual sojourn would be the catalyst for a profound awakening and transformation within me. The experiences I encountered during my 18 days of pilgrimage, especially three days spent at the divine Kailash were nothing short of extraordinary, leaving an indelible mark on my soul. It is said that Kailash chooses those who are ready to embark on a spiritual quest. I felt an inexplicable yearning to visit this divine abode long before I set foot on its sacred soil. The aura of Kailash, its ethereal beauty, and the stories of spiritual encounters intrigued me deeply. I felt drawn to its mystical presence, sensing that something profound awaited me there.

At the tender age of five or six, a spark of curiosity ignited within me, prompting me to question my grandmother about the abode of GOD. Her response resonated deeply within my young heart, as she spoke of the sacred Kailash Mountain as the dwelling place of the divine. From that transformative moment onwards, my quest for GOD and my yearning for Kailash began to take root.

For decades, from the age of five until I finally reached Kailash at the age of forty, my every waking day was consumed by an unwavering desire to be in the presence of Kailash. It was as if this sacred mountain held an inexplicable magnetism, pulling at the very essence of my soul. The journey to Kailash became synonymous with the journey of my soul itself, a profound pilgrimage of the spirit.

With an indomitable longing and a heart aflame with devotion, I pursued my soul’s destined path towards Kailash. It was a calling that surpassed all worldly attachments and transcended the limitations of time and space. Each day, my yearning grew stronger, drawing me closer to the sacred mountain that held the key to unlocking the deepest recesses of my being.

I realized that the external trappings of life, the material possessions and pursuits, held no lasting significance in comparison to the eternal essence of the soul.

During those transformative days in Kailash, I underwent an inner alchemy. I died to my old self, shedding layers of conditioning and ego-driven desires. In that death, a new me was born—a version untethered by worldly attachments and limitations, a version connected to the divine source.

Now, as I reflect upon my life’s extraordinary journey, I recognize that Kailash was more than a physical destination—it was the embodiment of my soul’s purpose. It guided me, shaped me, and propelled me forward on a transformative path of self-realization. Kailash became the sacred pilgrimage that would forever reside within the depths of my heart, eternally intertwined with my spiritual awakening.

The boundaries of nationality, such as being Indian, American, Japanese, or Chinese, became insignificant as my consciousness expanded. The realization dawned upon me that the source from which we all originate is the same, and that source is Shiva, the divine essence that permeates everything.
